3D-Tool Basic, Advanced and Premium

3D-Tool is available in the three editions Basic, Advanced and Premium. Each edition includes the 3D-Tool Viewer with all functions for measuring and analyzing 3D models and 2D drawings. The editions differ mainly in their supported import interfaces. The 3D-NativeCAD Converter can only be used with a Premium license.

Choose the edition that fits your CAD data. Basic covers common visualization and 2D formats. Advanced adds important CAD exchange formats, while Premium also adds native CAD interfaces and the 3D-NativeCAD Converter.

Cost-effective CAD Viewer with no maintenance costs

3D-Tool licenses require a one-time payment and have no recurring maintenance costs.

We regularly publish updates for the 3D-Tool CAD Viewer and Converter on our website. All service updates within the major version you purchased are free. When we release a new major version, service updates are provided only for that version. Updating an older license then requires a moderate update fee, but purchasing an update is optional.

Floating licenses

3D-Tool does not support network licenses (floating licenses). If you need 3D-Tool on multiple computers, we will be happy to provide you with a suitable quote. Volume licensing is available from 50 licenses. On request, we also offer server licenses for 4 users or more. A server license allows 3D-Tool to be activated on a server (application server, terminal server) and accessed by multiple users at the same time.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do 3D-Tool licenses incur annual costs - for example, for maintenance or updating the CAD interfaces?

No. You purchase a 3D-Tool license once, and it remains valid indefinitely. It is neither a rental nor a subscription license (SaaS), and there are no contractually required maintenance costs. For the major version you purchased, you receive regular free service updates. Where available, these include updates to the CAD interfaces. The free update service runs until the next major version is released. Switching to a new major version is optional and requires only a moderate update fee. Your existing license remains valid indefinitely.

Can I buy only the 3D converter? I do not need a viewer.

The 3D-NativeCAD Converter is part of 3D-Tool Premium and cannot be purchased separately. The converter's 3D interfaces add powerful import and conversion functions to 3D-Tool. The included 3D-Tool Viewer is more than just a viewing program: it is a practical information tool for presentations, reports, documentation, inquiries and quotes.

3D-Tool Premium costs 800 EUR. Is that not a lot?

Compared with a CAD system, 800 EUR is a fair price: a CAD system often costs several thousand euros. For 800 EUR, 3D-Tool Premium gives you a perpetual license that includes all native interfaces and the 3D-NativeCAD Converter. 3D-Tool Premium does not replace a CAD system for design work. However, in many areas, users only need to open, inspect, measure, analyze, convert or present CAD data. In these cases, 3D-Tool Premium can make an expensive additional CAD license unnecessary. 3D-Tool Premium is also attractive as a complement to an existing CAD system: the included 3D-NativeCAD Converter provides additional interfaces and helps convert CAD data flexibly into common exchange formats.
