What hardware does 3D-Tool require?

3D-Tool requires at least 4 GB of RAM and a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. We recommend 8 GB of RAM for Advanced and 16 GB for Premium. Onboard graphics with OpenGL 1.2 or higher are sufficient. See the hardware and software requirements for details.

What is the difference between the 32-bit and 64-bit versions?

The 64-bit version of 3D-Tool opens significantly larger and more complex CAD models because a 64-bit application can use much more memory than a 32-bit application. The 3D-Tool Premium interfaces and the 3D-NativeCAD Converter only work on 64-bit systems running Windows 10 or later. The 32-bit version is intended specifically for older 32-bit Windows systems prior to Windows 10 and includes only 3D-Tool Basic and Advanced. Since the introduction of Windows 10, almost all Windows systems have been 64-bit systems.

Do I need administrator rights?

Yes. You need administrator rights to install 3D-Tool Basic, Advanced and Premium and to use a trial key. Only the free 3D-Tool Free Viewer can be installed in a local Windows user account without administrator rights. EXE files published with 3D-Tool also do not require administrator rights. They contain the Free Viewer and CAD data and can be used directly without installation.

How long does the trial version last?

The free trial lasts 14 days, starting on the day you receive your trial key. After installation, start 3D-Tool, select “Get Trial Key” in the licensing dialog and enter the key sent by email. During the trial, you can select the Basic, Advanced or Premium license type each time you start the 3D-Tool Viewer and try the corresponding CAD interfaces. The 3D-NativeCAD Converter is always unlocked during the trial. However, commercial use requires 3D-Tool Premium.
